Shamanic Drum Birthing Workshops, with Jonathan Weekes of Heron Drums. UK.
In this full day workshop, you will birth your own Shamanic Drum in a day of ceremony, honouring the spirits of the animal and the tree. We make our drums in the traditional way using lacing cut from the same hide, thus keeping the spirit of the animal within the drum. When you have birthed your drum, you will be led on a journey to connect with the spirit of your drum.

This is a fully immersive experience in the wild. We will be sleeping under the stars and walking through the wilderness with everything we need in our backpacks. There will be 2 expert armed guides with you throughout the journey to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
Learn to track wild animals like lion, leopard, elephant etc. Hear the sounds of the animal kingdom come to life whilst sleeping near an open fire.
The pilgrimage will operate as a ceremony with prayers and intention held throughout the 8 day program. The first few days will be an opportunity to acclimatise the group to one another and the South African landscape. It will also be a time to prepare people for the 3-day trail with everything they need on their backs. People will have an opportunity after the trail for 2 days to integrate their experience.
This pilgrimage is a combination of spiritual or inner tracking, led by John and trail tracking involving the language of birds and footprints in the sand, led by Massimo.

Lapland, the Land of the Sami People, June 21 or 22 – June 30 or July 1 (dates to be confirmed with available airline schedules) with Shamanic Voyages.
Join us as we again partner with Orso Voyage for a visit with the traditional reindeer herding peoples of Lapland to learn about their spiritual practices and some of the modern challenges they face. Our trip will begin with a two day stay in the Northern Swedish city of Kiruna, within the arctic circle. As we will be arriving with the solstice, we will be experiencing the ‘Midnight Sun’ as we acclimate to the time zone! We will then be spending a week with our Sami shaman, Peter Armstrand, who will share with us many of the practices and traditions of Sami culture and act as our guide for our forays into the natural surroundings. He will also guide us in the crafting of a staff or rattle which we bring home with us.

The Shamanic Way, A seven module ONLINE (pre-recorded) Introductory Shamanic Course.
This Online Course offers a concise and powerful introduction into the shamanic ways. 1st Level Course – Over 9 sessions this course will not only give you an introduction to shamanism, but will also enable you to be able to start healing and connecting with the Universe to receive its wisdom. This Shamanic course will be divided into 9 sessions, over 9 weeks, being 3 sessions per month. After every 3 weeks, there will be a week off so you can practice, and I’ll be available by email in case you need guidance. Plant Spirit Healing workshops, PAPWORTH EVERARD, CAMBRIDGESHIRE with The Wild Edges. Plant spirit medicine is an aspect of shamanic work in which we work with the botanical properties and spirits of native flowers, trees and herbs for wisdom, guidance and healing.
Scheduled to coincide with the eight festivals of the Celtic Wheel of the Year, these half day workshops will help you learn how to consciously deepen your connection with native plants through learning about each one individually and how to work with it in daily life, meditation, ceremony and journeying, and in doing so restore your sacred relationship with yourself and the natural world.
In each workshop, you will:
- learn how to recognise the plant and work with it safely and respectfully, experiencing it with all your senses
- learn about the history, folklore and healing properties of the plant and learn how our ancestors would have used it
- learn how to work with the plant for healing on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels
- prepare a simple and safe herbal remedy to take home with you
- participate in a sacred tea ceremony to honour the spirit of the plant
- meet your plant spirit ally and gain wisdom, guidance and healing through guided shamanic journeying

The Wild Edges sacred gatherings mark the turning of the Wheel of the Year and we meet in a spirit of gratitude, community and connection, to share wisdom, participate in ceremony, shamanic drumming and journeying to honour and work with the energies of the seasons and the elements for healing, cleansing, guidance and wisdom.
In the sacred space we create for each gathering, we follow in the footsteps of our ancestors and we:
- Hold a sacred ceremony to honour that particular time of the year
- learn about ancient native traditions, folklore and customs relevant to the season and pagan festivals
- explore how the turning of the wheel of the year can support our personal and spiritual development

Drum Birthing Workshops with Melonie Syrett.
To birth a drum is to rebirth yourself. Melonie, thedrumwoman, runs regular drum birthing 121 and group workshops as well as retreats across the year.
121 workshops mean that you can make more choices about your drum. Perhaps pyrography or paint on the hoop, different crystal placements, adding feathers or attaching things, changing the way the handle looks. These are £299 per person and 10:30am to around 5:30pm. Group workshops can take up to 7 participants, (if in my home the maximum is 4). In this space we all make a traditional drum with a cross handle or 3 strand goddess handle. You have the option of placing a crystal in the centre of the handle. These are £200 per person.
Melonie also offers advanced workshops for those that have perhaps birthed a drum before and now want to expand their creativity. In these workshops people have created whale tail handles, ovoid drums with stick handles, intricate handle designs or crystal placements and more.
Melonie also makes and sells drums, take commissions for embellished drums and rattles.

Shamanic Counseling – Learning the Shamanic Journey. Near PERTH, SCOTLAND with Brian Anderson.
A six-session personal workshop that can be taken anytime. By the end of the sessions, you will have learnt the method of the shamanic journey. You will learn how to safely and effectively engage with your own helping compassionate spirits as a method of guidance and problem solving. This time-tested practice opens us up to build partnerships with our own helping spirits to dynamically and practically support our lives.
The six session covers the cosmology of the shaman’s map, we will undertake Lower and Upper world journeys, learn how to ask questions of the spirits and how to understand how they communicate with us as well as look at how to bring this wisdom practically out into our own lives. This means as a result we have an effective practice to build supportive relationships that we can call on at any time to grow our lives.
It works best to have regular sessions with a space of one to two weeks in between to keep the momentum moving. This work is offered online using Zoom/Skype as well as in person and each session last around one and half to two hours as well as in person. Cost for the full six session £300 paid in full or with deposit of £100 for first session then £40 paid for each the five remaining sessions. Shamanism opens us to the sacredness of life, this process moves us away from a hierarchical and linear mind to a circular state of consciousness where we know we are connected as one web of life and come to experience life as sacred and that all life is alive and that land is sacred and so asks to be respected. Cultures across the world talk of nature as the visible face of spirit so as we walk we are walking in the presence of spirit this is why a conscious walk in nature can be so restorative for us.
This 3 hour workshop offers an opening and deepening of this sacred experience and offers a practical and effective method of healing that you can use in your life as and when needed. We start with our ceremony with respect and moving our perception to see that land as a sacred living spirit, one that is aware of us as we are aware of it. We then will walk out with the land to continue our work and finally return to share and integrate your experience where support will be given to carry on this opening in your everyday.
